A. Writing a post with text only:
1. In “Control Panel”, click “Write Post”.
2. The vertical bar on the right hand side named “Categories” and Custom Categories” is will let you specify the content type of your post.
3. On the left hand side is the Post Editor. You can enter the title and content of your post here. The upper editor is the main content or “teaser” part of the post. If you are writing a long post or want to accurately count the number of user clicks of your posts, you may post the first few sentances or paragraph in the upper editor and the rest in the lower “Extended Content” editor. In this case the whole post will only be shown when “Read More” is clicked.
4. You may now to write a new post.
5. To wite a new post, you must enter a title in the “Title” box.
6. Enter the content of you post in the Content editor and Extended Content edotor.
7. Scroll down and click the “Post” botton.
8. You post is now saved and published!
9. Click the “My Blog” link on the top upper left corner to view your blog with the new post.
B. Categorize your posts.
You may categorize your post to help your readers and youself to easily find different types of contents. There are a list of pre-set categories and if your post does not fit in those categories, you may also create your own categories.
1. Go to “Write Post” in “Control Panel”.
2. If you are writing a movie review, you can go to the Category list and click the checkbox next to “Movie”. Click “Post” to save the changes and you post will now categorize as “Movie”.
3. If you post doesn't fit into the pre-set categories, you may click the “Categories” button under the “Custom Category” section. This will bring you to the “Manage” -> “Categories” page. Enter your custom category in the “Name” field under “Add Categories”. Click the “Add Categories” button to save your new category.
4. Go back to the “Write Post” page, you may now find your new category under “Custom Categories”.
5. Now you may click the checkbox of your custom categories when you wirte a new post. Reminder - a post may have only 3 categories maximum.
6. On your blog page, you will find your posts nicely categorize in the under the “Cetegories” block.
C. Other features
1. Post Status
- “Publish” means it is open for everybody to read.
- “Draft” means the post is saved as draft and is not posted publicly until its stauts is changed to “Publish”.
2. Discussion
- Allow Comments: Allow reader to post comment on the article.
- Allow Trackback: Allow others to use send you a Trackback notice when quoting your post.
3. Set Password
- If you set a password for your post, the post will be protected and only be viewed by public with the correct password.
- If you forget the password of the post, simply set a new password for the post by typing the new password in the “Set Password” field.
4. Trackback
Trackback feature is common to almost all Blog systems. This feature allows communications between different Blogs by allowing bloggers to send “Trackback” notice to articles that they have quoted. For example if you read a post and find it very intersting, you may quote part of the post in your own post and send a Trackback to the original post to let other readers of that blog to find a link to your post. Otherwise is the same: You will know who have quoted your post by looking at the Trackback notices.
- When sending a Trackback to a post, you need to copy the Trackback link of the original post. Most blog systems will place the Trackback link at the bottom of the post.
- Simply paste the link to the Trackback field and Trackbacks will send automatically to the post.
- When other people have Trackback your post, you will find Trackback notice in the “Trackback” link at the bottom of your post.
- If you are quoting articles in Chocoboard, you may simply click the “Blog it” link and the system will automatically type in the Trackback link for you.
5. Edit Post Time
You may set the time for your post and even pre-set the posting time.
